Early Riser’s Toastmasters January 11 2011
Attending were: Frank, Nik, Malcolm, Dalia, Steve K., Yanming, Jane
S., Phillip, Steve E. and Eileen
Today's meeting featured a late change, with Phillip as Toastmaster
and Malcolm delivering speech no. 2, "Why having a pet is good for
your health", in which we learned that a pet's presence can even
improve healing from heart attacks. Nik delivered speech no. 1,
"Margaret Fuller's Journeys" in which we learned about an unusually
accomplished woman who was lost in ship wreck but whose reputation
lives on with scholars.
Dalia was our Table Topics Master, asking interesting questions mostly
about our topic, Nature. Steve K. evaluated the meeting, while Yanming
evaluated Nik and Jane Slater gave her first evaluation for Malcolm.
Frank inspired and joked us, I timed us, and Steve E. paid attention
to all our speech strengths and unfortunate ah's.
Nik will soon send out requests for Feb. availability. Steve E.
reminded us of the January officers' meeting.
(minutes by Eileen; thanks Eileen!)
